Rules

We have a set of five, general and memorable rules that all players should know when talking with others and being on our platforms. These rules are designed to keep everyone polite, respectful but most importantly, safe. By joining any of our platforms you agree that you will follow these rules.

These “big five” community guidelines are not all-inclusive, but are a general guide for our players on how to judge their conduct. An in-depth punishment guidelines that outlines general punishment lengths for various offenses against our rules can be viewed on the server’s help center.

Golden rule

1. Comply with staff members

Comply with all of the requests of staff members, and be truthful and forthcoming with anything they might ask.

Why have this rule?

The goal of staff members is to keep the community a safe place and promote an enjoyable experience for all of our players. When everyone cooperates with staff members, they are better able to keep the community secure.

Staff members will never ask for personal information or any credentials to your account. File a report immediately if this happens.

What exactly does this rule mean?

All of our staff members act with the whole community in mind. Try to assist by doing the following:

  • Answer their questions or recall any events you remember
  • Remaining truthful
  • Actively reporting rule-breaking behavior

Some things don’t help our staff members, however. Try to avoid the following:

  • Mini-modding, trying to enforce rules for other staff members. Try to direct staff members to the rule-breaking behavior
  • Withholding details from staff members
  • Filing appeals or reports on behalf of someone else
  • Evading punishments issued by staff members
Who is a staff member?

All staff members can be located by the prefix before their name:

  • Executives will have a [EXV] prefix and a light red name.
  • Developers will have a [DEV] prefix and a light purple name.
  • Admins will have a [ADM] prefix and a yellow name.
  • Mods will have a [MOD] prefix and a lime green name.
How can I report someone for not complying with staff members?

Here are the options given to our members if they need to file a report:

  • Recommended: Online form report. Use the online form to file a player report online.
  • Join the Discord server and send a message to a staff member. If no staff member is online, try using the #help channel and a staff member will handle it later.
  • Inform an online staff member on the server.

4. Avoid cheating and exploiting.

Our players should experience an environment that is free from cheating or abuse of exploits.

Why have this rule?

When cheating or exploiting occurs, it ruins the experience for others who try to play fairly. Everyone should be on a level playing field, and shouldn't be put at a disadvantage for following the rules.

What exactly does this rule mean?

All of our players should have access to the same advantages as everyone else. Specifically, avoid the following:

  • Taking advantage of a bug or error in a program or plugin
  • Not reporting any bugs or errors

We have some additional restrictions for cheating and hacked clients for the Creative server. All forms of cheating are banned entirely on the Survival and Skyblock servers.

  • Using hacked clients to fight or compete
  • Using hacked clients to break the rules
What are sanctioned game add-ons?

The following clients/add-ons are permitted on Survival and Skyblock:

  • OptiFine
  • Lunar Client
  • Badlion Client

If your client/add-on is not listed here, it is not sanctioned by the server and will be considered cheating on the Survival and Skyblock servers.

All hacked clients/add-ons are permitted on Creative so long as they do not violate the conditions set above.

What do we mean by a bug or exploit?

A bug refers to a software bug in a program or system. It is a flaw that can result in something that was incorrect or unexpected or will behave in unintended ways.

Our players should be able to play in a safe and secure place without fear of their account being stolen.

Why have this rule?

Life is better when it's secure, and our players deserve a place without transactions or account phishing. Security also means being responsible for your own account, and its credentials should be kept to you and you only.

Staff members will never ask for personal information or any credentials to your account. File a report immediately if this happens.

Players should be able to experience an environment that is secure. Specifically, avoid the following:

  • Any form of transactions or exchange of goods

Your Minecraft account is yours that controls your profile. Do not let other people access it, and regularly change your account password.

Players should notify an Executive before making another account if they intend to do so. Anything that violates United States law will be notified to proper authorities; we are based in the U.S. and work within its laws.
